I've just discovered a bug with the rangefinder on my new Oryx 35 LRF - worth anyone else who owns one being aware. Firmware version 2.5.104 only ranges in metres - despite what the settings and display say! By chance, I pinged a deer at 300yds this morning with my Leica RF binos then had another scan with the thermal and picked up a second deer close by. Pinged that with the Oryx and miles out!
So by process of elimination, I've discovered a known 100m distance ranges as both 100m and 100yds on the Oryx. I've installed the latest Firmware (2.5.105) and the known 100m is now showing as 100m and 109yds - as it should.
A few messages backwards and forwards with Thomas Jacks but they weren't aware of the issue nor that the latest firmware update had any impact on the rangefinder units.
So worth a quick check of Firmware version if you own one and maybe also worth flicking backwards and forwards between the yards and metres setting and check it's giving you different values.
