Pulsar problems

Recently bought a new Pulsar Digisight Ultra N450 LRF. It was bought to sit on my .223 as a dedicated night set up. Right from the start I had problems. The 1 shot zero function works well & could get zero set very quickly. Problem was the following shots. Couldn't not get 2 shots with a couple of inch of each other. It got worse the more shots you took. The scope was on a Sako 85 XS Varmint stainless with a contesa rail & Stalon mod. I tried 4 different types of ammunition and the results were always the same. Spoke to dealer & to importers & they were both adamant it would be my set up. In the end I took Pulsar off the .223 & dropped it on my 6.5 creed & stuck the scope off the creed on the .223. Up to that point the 6.5 had been consistently grouping under MOA at 200m with 130gr copper Norma. The minute I put the pulsar on I couldn't get 2 shots close again with the same ammo. In 4 shots from a zero on bull I was off the side of a 6 inch target. The .223 with the day scope was now doing tidy groups with a 5 shot group in just over an inch. After videoing all this & sharing with dealer & importer they eventually agreed to have it sent back to be checked. I wasted over £130 on ammo trying to get it set up & it's cost another £30 to get it sent back insured. Well out of pocket after already parting with £1200 for the scope so less than impressed as you can well imagine. Been without scope for 10 days already & still heard nothing about it. Has anybody else with a Pulsar NV scope had any similar problems & how did you solve it in the end please?

If its brand new and you no longer wish to have it due to said issues, then reject it as unfit for purpose for a refund I would say. If its like that from factory, then its not a warranty issue...the fault hasn't occurred during ownership..it was an inherent fault that been like since it was made new..so its a statutory rights issue.
I'm sure the dealer would oblige, especially if you used the funds to purchase a different nv scope from them. I would highly recommend the yukon sightline 470s, better built, better on board IR and specs. You can't record but it's not a necessity. It's much cheaper and if you really wanted a rangefinder option, then you can simply bolt on a generic range finder to the pica rail for about 160quid.

Seen the same thing happen with the same unit but only after if had been turned off from one day to the next. Months wasted and a couple of wounded foxes were the results of the problem.
I don't like the idea of dealers blaming it on your equipment, no doubt a lot of the time it is, but they don't know how particular and understanding some customers are.
The digisight got sent back in the end, longbow went on instead and never looked back.

I had a brand new pulsar phantom nv scope couldn't see anything through it straught out the box
After a few days email ping pong as they do telling you to do all the trouble shooting they eventually agreed to have it back as I told them it was an expensive paperweight atm
So I duly sent it back and then a couple of weeks later I received a brand spanking new scope different serial number to my original must have been faulty out the factory
I just kept badgering them until they had it back sent it direct back to thomas Jacks as there the importer

This went back to Jack's. Been gone a fortnight now & heard nothing. Be chasing them up on Monday

Iv sent my few month old Digex back after a fault accrued ,after the last update. get a gray screen when switching to sum light setting. not best pleased on a £1300 unit .I will have to wait and see what is said and the out come is .I understand faults happen but I would assume a replacement would be given on a new purchase rather than a repair. I was informed the decision is down to pulsar. I shall keep you informed .Enjoy your weekend .

Your experience mirrors mine and a shooting collegs. We both brought the units last year. Wasted an afternoon attempting zeroing them. Had the same problem as you did. One shot in centre of target rest all of the place. Sent them back for a full refund as brought mail order and paid by card. Completely not fit for purpose on that front and appalling whiteout at night, but that’s a different problem. I’ve owned a few Pulsar units but this was by far and away the worst.

Not happy still waiting for a response .at what stage do I demand a full refund? I was told its down to pulsar if I am able get a refunded, this doesn't sound right to me ?on a new Digex bought end of December used 4 times ( hence Covid )this image you see looking through the scope.

Iv just got off the phone to Scott Country now .Said they will get back to me later today as they have a few to chase up .This is the same response I got last week . its got to the point now I want a full refund. just received a phone call saying ,they need to hear back from pulsar if the image quality is within their tolerance . Having know image I would say is not a acceptable tolerance  they will get back to me ?

I had similar problems with 870lrf and thermal scopes from pulsar doing exactly the same, both returned to Thomas jacks faulty and the fault was the software updates and the speed of connection while any updates were being carried out, absolutely drove me bonkers and got rid of both and went tubed archer and never looked back, stress free night now
