Quad sticks - any insider secrets I should know?

I have used B and Q sticks for ages, they do work well.

I have been using the Blaser V2 sticks in recent years and love them. They are light and strong, the ability to track laterally is very handy but I expect I'd like the Viperflex for that feature.

Mine have had a fairly tough time of it, they survived being run over, they even had a brace of chunky muntjac, one at each end over my shoulder for an unfortunately long carry out!

I went from Primos trigger sticks to vyper-flex and haven't looked back since. Such a solid platform to shoot from, Never did get on overly well with the Primos, The final straw was when they froze up on me one night and the legs stopped extending

I started off with home made sticks using green garden canes, rubber horse bridle rings etc. Was seduced by Vipeflex Journey carbon sticks - super strong, light and easy to use. The flat traveller on the front makes micro adjustments on moving beast pretty easy. Whilst an investment, they are built to last

Viperflex with fifth leg - unbelievable. I’ve used hazel canes followed by b&q canes but viper flex are amazing because you can adapt to the stability required and time available - monopod, double sticks, quad and finally fifth leg when you have loads of time and it’s a long shot. It’s worth paying for something which ensure a humane shot and in comparison to the money we spend on optics or rifles it’s nothing. Like everything you have to practice with it otherwise you’ll be hopeless in the field.
