I'm quite happy with Hawke on my .22, but if I was buying again I'd get the next model up in their range. I was on a budget, and it was an end-of-line scope that the gunshop was clearing out before new stock came in. The newer ones are much better.
I've heard some folk on here knocking the Hawke scopes, and I can understand why, but I do think they have improved a lot in recent years and are more than adequate for anything you're going to do with a.22
