Question Of Extent Of Liability Of Legal Cover And Which Of The Shooting Insurances Offers Best Level Of Legal Protection For Certs

Which of the shooting insurances offers best level of legal protection for gun licences. It seems quite complicated. I was reading through the small print of one and it said -

"What is excluded - excluding any professional fees that are a result of - Your conviction, trial or impending trial for any criminal act or offense of breach of statutory regulations"

Which seems to be the only reason your licences would be seized. Or would it protect you from malicious allegations and such like ? And if you were found not guilty of a criminal offence, or only a minor non revokable offense. Would your legal protection then help you get your firearms returned after confiscation. Criminal acts range from quite minor offenses and you hear of statutory regulations being misinterpreted.
I'm 51 years of age and have had no criminal convictions and hopefully never will do. But it would pay to be covered anyway.
Many Thanks

Simplistically it seems to suggest, if you are found guilty you pay everything - found innocent and the insurance pays everything reasonable.
Since there is usually an 'assessment' of the likelihood of your winning, this would seem like a fallback position in case the 'assessment' was incorrect ?

It’s quite hard to tell from only part, there may be missing context.

Given the words ‘impending trial’ it would suggest that you wouldn’t be covered for any fees arising after a decision to prosecute is taken.

What’s the cover level? If it’s around £50k (fairly usual for legal policies) that won’t go anywhere once a trial is required.
