Rabbit on BBQ

Minced it makes great burgers mixed with some pork meat and onions/herbs etc Hugh fernley tits and balls did a recipe for bunny burgers..... Very nice, better stick to younger animals though

Plus one on burgers

Mince rabbit n mince some misshape bacon packs
Ratio 70:30 rabbit to mince bacon, or more if you want

Mix well , add whatever you want , I like lots of diced onion , finely diced chillies , some mature grated cheddar thru it & a splash o BBQ sauce mix well burger then BBQ , must have cold beer in other hand

Cheers guys

I ve done the bunny burgers before and they were really good, will need to do again soon.

I was thinking of chopping the rabbit up 6 or 8 portions ( can't remember )
Maranading and then putting on BBQ.
Do you think these will be to tough? I was thinking maybe slow cooking In oven first.

Loins cut length ways so there long and thin then skewered and covered in sweet chilli sauce and oil let sit for a few hours then cook hot and fast people won't tell its rabbit

Tandoori Rabbit indeed! Simpler than HFW, make a yoghurt, lemon, garlic, ginger and green chilli paste, marinade for at least 6 hours, but 2 will do. Wipe off excess marinade and cook. Either joints or chunks on skewers. Serve with butter sauce - tomato passata warmed, add garam masala, big lump of butter.
I have cooked them whole, bit dry but tasty

Tandoori rabbit comments made me remember

Rabbit pieces in a bowl cover with tub natural yoghurt , add teaspoon of curry powder , and lemon juice & mix well , cover & leave overnight in fridge

Next day remove rabbit shake of excess yoghurt then skewer

Now at this point it's into the oven hot as it goes for 10 mins top shelf or until starts to char / brown on edges

You could try it on BBQ tho hot n quick .

Rabbit tikka bits and it really. Good

rabbit dries very quickly so not an ideal BBQ job

Slow and low in an oil/fat bath 9Confit ) for a few hrs to cook (can now be then coat and Oven gives KFC rabbit

maybe try that an then marinate with a thick sticky goo and BBQ to finish

Roasting usually needs stuffing and fatty bacon wrap

pan frying in oil also works well

Get some sweet soy sauce (if you can find it) and mix that with some lime juice, garlic and a bit of oil. Marinade the rabbit joints or boned meat then cook quickly on the bbq. Doesn't need to marinade for days, the rabbit can even be coated in the marinade and put straight on the bbq. I baste it whilst it cooks with the marinade also.

Kebab.
Loin fillet cut into five equal pieces, marinade of choice, mushroom/red pepper etc. to alternate.
Now the important bit, thread a piece of streaky bacon on first, then alternate meat and veg with bacon rasher, so it snakes through the finished kebab - self basting !
When the bacon's done the rabbit's done, do not overcook.
Enjoy.
