I have the Leica HDB. In 8x42, they are a great tool when set up correctly with the info for your rifle, they are fairly lumpy but not to bad in the hand, I can’t see why anyone would by the Swarovski over the Leica when the Leica offer the ballistics program. I know not everyone would use it but it is very useful and nice to know it’s there if needed.

Another vote for Swarovski EL’s, they just ooze quality, the glass is clear and crisp with great colour and light transmission and the customer service is second to none.
Make sure you look through any potential binoculars as everyone’s eyes are different - I much prefer 10x42 to 8 or 8.5 x for all situations.
And buy the blaze orange ones! So much easier to find in the grass!

As per my PM, I do have a set of EL Range (Blaze Orange) 8x42 in excellent condition.
If I was to buy RF Binoculars again, it would be Swarovski. For my eyes, they are the best and mine haven’t ever missed a beat. I simply don’t use mine enough anymore to have them just sitting here.

I have a set of Leica 8x42 geovid older ones but perfectly serviceable. I got them from a mate who didn’t get on with the mag. He bought some 10x ones not sure on make instead. I do think 10x would be handy sometimes but mostly they do just what I need them to.

I think there’s good reason 11 of the 19 posts recommend Swaro….some people say it’s about brand or snobbery - they’re morons if they think that as most people I know have owned a few pairs of different types and model of binos by the time the get to swaro’s….I know I certainly slowly upgrade until I find something I can’t improve on..most people are the same.

I like to compare RF binos with moderators. They are consumables. Sooner or later they‘ll be finished.
Thus I have a totally different approach to buying RF binos than regular binos.
Mid range does the job. Even the top range models don‘t have the qualities and light gathering capabilities of their non-RF brothers. So why spend a fortune? In daylight they all work very well.
All in all you are paying a fortune for the premium RF models and get the optical quality between regular mid-range and top non-RF binos. And I have not even considered the extra weight.
