Re-sizing problem

Does anyone have any insights on how much you can reuse necked brass if they are only loaded as ‘pip-squeak’ load?

The reloading course I did said to only reuse necked brass five times. In this case I’ll be loading 7.62x54r with home cast lead heads with 5.5grs of Bullseye; a tried and tested ultra-light plinking load at my club. I was just going to stick to five uses to play it safe?

I'd be pretty disappointed to get fewer than 10 firings out of a neck-sized only case - especially with such a reduced load.

Out of interest, with such a reduced load do you experience hang-fires at all? A few years ago I experimented using cast-loads in my 375 - which was generally successful, although I noticed a significant increase in lock-time, which I assumed was a result of the relatively small powder charge falling away from the flash-hole in the case.

Good point...
I recently got a bullet stuck on 5gn of red dot.

I’ve not had any issues so far - the load has been used for a while in the Club, and a quick google suggests there’s plenty of people in the States using something very similar with Bullseye.
