Rebarrel action choice.

Why not a Zastava ? A famous gunsmith in Belgium once told me that they are made on the machines, sold by FN, on wich they made ( their no longer available) FN commercial mauser.

Zastava seem to be highly regarded in much of Europe but not in the U.K. for some unknown reason.

They aren't very popular here. As they are very cheap, some large companies promote them as entry rifles. The finish isn't that well. But as the rifle is very cheap it can be an intresting start for a donor action. Adding a horizontal safety ( winchester type) , etc........

I've heard this too. I'm also not sure how true it is. (If you think back the Yugoslavians were building M48 Mauser military rifles long before FN stopped their production of FN Commercial 98 production). Also, although there is nothing wrong with a Zastava, I've handled a few and they aren't built the same way an FN Commercial is (though there is plenty of scope for slicking them up to be very nice indeed)

ATB,
