Red Deer Skull Cut

Hi everyone,

Was lucky enough to shoot my first Red Deer today. Only a 6 pointer but really chuffed with the stalk, shot and the hard work after. 👍

I’d like to mount it and have seen a ‘style’ I like (picture attached). Does anyone know the method to achieve this or a template to use please? Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Ed

As per line c in the diagram. Cut from the concave ridge at the back of the skull about halfway down through the eye sockets and on to the nose. Or turn it round and cut the other way. It will be easier with someone to hold the head for you, and better to cut large and trim with a sander than cut short.
