Any thoughts on this? StackPath

wonder what price and when will make it to the UK, and how accurate it is.

seems like a remington that doesn't actually need any work before going into the field or on the range....time will tell

thoughts?

Hmmm, not a word on the bedding. And the LoP is like what sells as Ladys' models in Europe.

That is a very short LOP... I prefer my 700 Police tbh. 40X trigger, excellent stock, superb accuracy, wide range of compatible aftermarket (if that's your thing, I've kept mine 'stock').
With the Alpha's 'fluted' bolt and short LOP, it's actually ideal for some serious winter hunting - wearing thick clothing and worrying about snow/ice affecting the bolt. :thumb:

I’m 6ft and still shoot 13 1/2” LOP

Too many people think they need long LOP when they really don’t. This is often impacted by scopes being so large they sit too far back these days

A couple of good changes that really improve the 700. Stock is also an improvement. Cheek raiser would be more useful than longer stock. My guess is that 90% of Europeans shoot rifles with a too long stocks. I am over 6ft and also prefer a13.5" stock, at least I can shoot steep downhill and not run out of neck. I think I would prefer to sample this rifle over the Bergara.

loving the bolt handle over the 'flat' one. loving the bottom metal.

stock can be bedded if needed. love the bolt and barrel

accuracy - time will tell. trigger can't be set below 3lbs but can be changed to another timney/other so that's fine

price?

could be a contender, but not happy with caliber choices apart from 30-06. would have been nice to see 7x64 and some more 6.5's in there along with maybe a .257R

of course bolt handle does not 'lock' when down, but a new trigger with a locking arm could surely be fitted to engage the bolt handle

Wholesale cost is reported at $1500 in the US. MSRP $2400. They’re being launched in a time at downturn in the market so hopefully not much more than $1750. We can get Springfield Waypoints for $1800 with an AG composite stock so R better bring their A game to be competitive with other smaller makers. Of course R has never been good at marketing, “Here it is! Worship me!”

13.5 LOP is pretty standard for the average guy

Fluted bolt nice

Bayonet fitting fire control also good

5 r barrels almost always shoot well

Precision ground recoil lug - about damn time and I hope it’s thicker than they used to be

I hope they have reduced firing pin diameter to smaller industry standard

Just a few years late - but least it’s here now

👍🏻

But if it’s custom rifle price ,,, better buying a Borden action and building from there (long or short) PSE e-lite and barrel : bottom metal of your choice ,,,
