Bit of a silly question but better to ask and look foolish than do something wrong. Recently I have acquired a coupled barreled actions, borden timberline and Defiance machine action. Both are as I am sure you are aware Remington 700 clones with bolt releases on the side of the receiver.
When installing a trigger, for example a Rifle Basix Remington 700 replacement complete with safety and bolt release, do you:
a. remove the bolt release that is fitted to the trigger as you do not need it?
b. if so when you reinstall the pin that holds the bolt release and safety in place, do you need to put any form of spacer in place yes or no to avoid movement of the safety?
c. or leave the bolt release in place, it just has no use and can just sit there because it doesnt interfere with anything?
I appreciate this is a beginners question, but I am sure I am not the only one out there who would like to ask.
I look forward to being educated.
I appreciate you looking.

I would read the manual that comes with trigger and watch any videos etc on the trigger manufacturers website. I would also go manufacturers websites of the actions and read those in detail.

Some triggers you can remove the bolt release mech if installing with a side bolt release action

This will be in the installation instructions

You are really far better to install a trigger designed to be used with such actions that do not have the mechanism from the off
