Remington model 7 223??

If you're used to a light , crisp trigger in your current rifle , you will be disappointed with the xmark pro. A trigger that replaced the original Remington units to stop people adjusting them to light and becoming too dangerous. There is a lot on the internet about this. I've three rem 700 that came with the xmark pro. I swap them straight away. Crisp ? Maybe but always heavy. A lawyers trigger.
The plastic stocks are 15$ tupperware jobs . The pressure point is there to make them consistently 'accurate'
Whether that'll be as accurate as you want , you won't know until you buy it and shoot it.
I've tried to get 2 model 7's to shoot and found them a struggle to be true moa capable. One lad removed the pressure point to achieve the free floated barrel we chase and the rifle became so inconsistent due to gash stock flexing and twisting, depending on how it was been held.
Other people experience may differ of course .

Oh, also, I don’t know how Stumpy adjusted it but the trigger is fine. Single stage, crisp, lovely.

What I would say is, 308 is probably a bit of a beast for a small / light weight rifle etc.

I imagine it better suited to a smaller calibre etc.

I’ve put in a variation for a 6.5 creed and when it comes back may consider a rebarrel to a creed instead of buying a whole new rifle…

I think the Model 7 308 action should work as a 6.5 creed?

Sure Remington made a M7 in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Ken.

Gents, this has been a great educational thread.
However I've decided against it.
The 527 is just dam good and proving not only reliable but completely load fussy not and bullet fussy not. It doesn't appear to even want to zero shift worth a whatever between loads!
Thanks for all your contributions. 😊
