The boys buried the third of four little rabbits that their does have produced. Not a fantastic return but it has been such a great experience for them to this summer: from calculating gestation, arranging the mating, watching them build nests, and then trying to care for the does and their kits in the heat over the last 7 days. Understanding that nature takes its course. Obviously they shoot and eat pest wild rabbits too, I guess many people can’t comprehend the levelheadedness required to be able to hold such seemingly contrasting views of caring and taking. They exhumed her already buried littermates for the disposal, whether symbolic or efficient in this hard sun baked ground I’ll never know
