Road Rage

I DID PULL OVER AND LET HIM PASS, he then found it impossible to proceed. It is a lot easier to follow someones tail lights into the fog than to be the lead driver. Anyway the opinion of the CPS is more important than any of you guys and they decided that I had not sinned. What I want is for other people to avoid the same process as me

Sorry but your wrong, the examples you have given are nothing like the OP,there was no need for him to get involved, there was no oap or young lady involved or indeed endangered....and had he pulled over and allowed the tailgater to pass(when he chose to over take two other cars)........he would have removed himself and from the situation at a cost of a couple of minutes of time...........

You are ofcourse right on the examples but my point being exactly how many times do you not say anything and just keep rolling over..... This is just another post amongst many where some would want to reprimand the offender for his stupidity and others would just let him get on with the same behaviour again and again !!!

Ive had my own fac and firearms removed twice so does that mean I need to bend over from now on with some lube everytime there is a suggestion of confrontation???

Each to their own morals and judgement

I'm staying off the main point here but the same applies to me as I have to work under regular CRB checks one step out of line and your released off your duties as CRB checks are done 3 yearly and it is coming into effect for builders etc.. if working around vulnerable people too. Meaning a running will the law can loose you your F/C and your job too.
I had to send my father in law to sort an issue out with a mechanic who done a botched job on my mrs car as we know what happens when to small angry men get together.

I love this...

Its drawing quite the crowd lmao...

I liken this site to a school playground when theres a bit of a squabble... Its like kids shouting Fight,Fight,Fight and everybody running across the playground.... Hilarious watching the viewed count go up lol

Just a thought,do you think the poor chap had eyesight problems too and was trying to keep up with you to help hi through the fog?.......he may have seen you as a friendly helpful citizen????......just a thought.......

The CPS's opinion was probably based upon whether there was enough evidence to warrant the Court time to prosecute either of you(you were fortunate on this occasion as I am sur eit would have been a different story had he died!!!)......I wouldn't rely on that in future,my advice would be dont get involved and save the 6 months of hassle and a lost season........

I'm sure I've not missed something, but wasn't the OP saying (quite openly) that, having got himself involved, he regretted that, and was posting the story as a warning not to get involved?

There seem to be a lot of posts telling him that he shouldn't have got involved, to which he has freely admitted!

I'm off to mow the lawns and clear the squirrels I've just shot

Read post #41......

It could easily have turned out another way.
When chubby was confronted he could quite easily have said
'Sorry I didn't realise I was blinding you with my lights, I'll drive with my lights dipped from now on but do you mind if I still follow you as I have a problem seeing properly in this fog and was thankfull I could see your tail lights'
Of course, if we all had the ability to know what the outcome was to become then it would be fantastic.
I never cross a main road now just in case I get run over but on the other hand I might take a chance if I thought nothing was coming:lol:

I feel quite sorry for the OP

He got out of the car and confronted the bloke, they had a bit of a childish name calling session and then he walked away before being attacked from behind.

It isnt his fault in the least bit that the other driver had a heart attack mid assault and also in no way his fault that the bloke hit his head as he fell. In fact he might have been quite lucky because it sounds like he was about to get a smack! There again the 'victim' could have had that attack at the same time whilst driving and gone off the cliff, so maybe he was lucky too?

Unless you are of a nature that 'sees red and not reason' you should never really have to fear for your certificates. Just because you have guns doesnt mean that you cannot stand up for yourself, it means that you cant go over the top and cant act without reason without risking your certificate. Yes you have more to lose than many other people but you arent totally tied down.

I cant see a problem with getting certificates back, he has been investigated by the CPS and the 'Doctor Police' and seen to be innocent, surely one out of 3 cant come to a different conclusion.

If the bloke cant remember what happened then the witness accounts should be the ones that count and the by the sounds of it back him up. Chin up and good luck!

ps. bloody lucky you didnt smack him right off the bat!

if you'd made the decision to get out and confront him then words were not required you should have just filled him in , no talking just get on with it and if he turns out to be rather handy then take your beating and learn a lesson !

i really think there should be a forum boxing ring at the game fair or some other national event where all these keyboard warriors can meet and have there arguments , i think they would all behave differently if they were face to face ?

and fwiw the guy sounds like he was lucky that he picked on a doctor or he would probably be dead now !

Does that mean us "keyboard warriors" would be afraid to put our opinion face to face?.....why should we feel that way??........some people only get physical when they start to lose the battle of words.......

I'm not going to get dragged into the rights or wrongs of the OP or any of the strongly opinionated replies.

i would like to state tho' that this whole incident stared because the OP got more and more angry because a car was following too close.

Why one earth would this wind up anyone with any road-driving experience ? What is the worse thing that can happen?

THey run into you...... They are too blame and you get whiplash.

I have just been to pick up some bits for one of my bikes this afternoon and seen some remarkably sh!te driving ( and sadly yes I am qualified and experienced enough to comment on others). The hot weather contributes to a degree, however if EVERYBODY took more time and was more considerate on British roads there would be less KSIs less road rage and more happy drivers.

It would be interesting for the moderators to audit this thread as I wouldnt mind betting that the threads supporting the OP are more aggressive and threatening than those opposing the OP actions................what do you think?

Why not just get out and tell the driver of it or even better give him/her a good slapping???
