roaring

Took an 18 stone post gralloch Stag today just south of Oban.
A fine strong beast with one five tine antler. He had 19 hinds with him and gave one roar prior to the shot !

I'm just back from a couple of days stalking in Glen Sheil and there is plenty of roaring going on there now. including a stag a shot immediately after he roared. Off to Glen Lyon in two weeks so should be in the thick of it then

Hard frost in Glenshee early Sunday morning while I was packing car to come south:mad:. 3 stags going at it on hill above house. Heard first one this year on thurs...I'm sure they'll still be going on my return next week!

hi all,

yesterday 7:30pm the first roaring around ballantrae, sw Scotland. but at least it was a 14 pointer. a little bit late but at least they have started...

I said the other day that it had just begun, well its well and truly underway now,at least a dozen roaring at this moment two close to the house less than a hundred and some further away, dogs going daft at the noise, can hardly hear the telly for the racket.lol

Roaring now in most areas just south of Oban.
Grassed another fine beast this evening near Seil.
Out north of Connel tomorrow, splendid week so far and the weather is magnificent !

Big time roaring on donside, with stags fighting, even witnessed mating. I had a superb evening stalk on Tuesday, with stags literally all round me. They were so full on that a stag chased a hind past me whilst chatting to a pal on the phone post gralloch. Some big fellas belting around, it is great fun up there at the moment.
A first for me, i roared in a fine 10 pointer, and he liked what he heard, as he came charging in. Dropped like a sack of spuds to the 3006, luckily just off track, as i was on my own and getting him into the argo was a battle!

Stags well "on song" today in brilliant sunshine Glen Stockdale !
stalked the biggest beast I've ever seen, huge rack with over 30 hinds with him !
Got within 280 yards on them before they winded us due to varying wind direction on steeply rising ground.
Wonderful experience though !
grassed my 5th Stag of the week this evening !
Home tomorrow !

Well that big stag I posted a picture of last week has proven to be a rather elusive. A photographer friend of mine has accompanied me to that area a number of time`s over the last week or so without success.
But anyhow we were out this afternoon looking for the big fella and we come across this chappie roaring away holding approximately 12/15 or so hinds just a mile or so up the road.
You may see this picture on other forums as he took the picture and not me. I was only the guide.
Just for the "Team Pussy" crew I aged him on the hoof as middle aged, im sure there boss will agree.. :D

In Galloway yesterday, very warm and the midge was out, but still stalked into and shoot a stag, seen and heard a few big boys so going back for them this weekend. Also seen loads of hinds. Not as vocal as they could be, but the Deer are still there.
