Roe doe in full winter coat

Last Friday, on the 6th September, whilst out stalking in Norfolk I came across a roe doe that was in full winter coat. Dark brown coat, full white flared anal patch, the works.
She was the only one in a group of about 9 that had fully changed.

Is this early, or has anyone else seen a roe deer in winter coat yet this year?

I'm working on my expertise in these matters but the other evening in woods nearby I was certain that I observed the same. I brushed it off as me being a tyro but maybe not?

An early born kid maybe?

“Old deer take their thick coats off last and put them on first” was a line I was taught.

Shot a four point roe yesterday 60% changed to winter coat so possible older doe already there.
