Roe Doe Kid Lungs black lump

Hi all, shot a Roe Doe Kid this morning. The lungs have black dots all over, is it lung worm? Picture of the mesenteric added as well.

While lungworm is usually on the edges, I do wonder about it. Each black bit looks like it has a faint red ring around it, which you'd expect with some sort of infection. Be interesting to cut into them

I cut into one of them and it’s just a small lump on the outside, it didn’t go deep into the lung at all. I also read this…

Anthracosis (“carbon spots”)

These are small black or dark grey specks caused by inhaled dust, soot, or environmental particulates.

• Very common in wild animals that live near roads, farms, or areas with soil disturbance.
• Usually harmless and not associated with disease or condemnation of the carcass if everything else is normal.

It was shot on ground that lines up with the above. The rest of the carcass is normal and it wasn’t acting out of the ordinary pre shot. I still plan on eating it at the moment.
