You know what ? I very very rarely see them at all.

I do recall a very late April kid years ago though.
I tend not to notice them till late June

Roe kids are the absolute cutest no doubt about it, I rarely see them as well besides one particular area where they seemly give birth in the silage but were way behind this year compared too last year so I cant imagine I'll see them until there mobile.

Seems early to me - normally see perhaps one or 2 a year but later on in May and afterwards.

Its the first one I have seen in a long time. Quite a high population of roe on that ground as the owners don’t want them culled. Just the Muntjac.
Some nice bucks that will wonder across the road to where the owners do want me to cull them.

I used to live in a village with a similar situation - roe not shot on main farm. In my 18 years there I found - or rather came across - two single fawns and a pair of twins. I probably learned more about roe deer on that farm than any time spent stalking - just watching them while walking dogs.

31st May 2025 set of twins found by a female dog walkers dog, one got munched and don’t think it survived the one in the picture was ok.
