Wanted: Roof tent

very nice Iike the hardshell for two reasons. One I leave it on all the time so its better for driving and stays dry. 2 I leave the bed set up in ity when camping so its quick to set up after a long day...But each to his own
Ours stays on all the time.
Takes about 3 minutes to set up.
But no, we can't leave the bedding in there.
Here is the price. Tim is this the same make as yours
No.
The one in your pic is a Ventura.
I looked at those and thought they had too many fiddly bits to get broken, and the fabric wasn't very robust.

What website you use if direct from China if don't mind me asking

Paul

I bought it through shopyounghunter.com It took about 10 weeks to arrive from the day I placed the order. it was a tracked order and when it arrived at my house It was dropped off in a wagon driven by a lad I went to school with. Well packaged in a strong crate and had zero damage from its journey. I can set the tent up in less than 30 seconds, the memory foam mattress is comfy and it is well put together. Its been on to p of the car since I got it. You can feel the extra weight a bit in the bends and there is some noise from the wind but its not that bad, nothing that the stereo can't drown out at well above motorway speed limits. My plan is to upgrade to a pickup later this year with a metal back to take the weight of the tent and 2 people.

I put the tent in my shopping cart and left it there without completing the purchase. After a week I got emailed a £100 off voucher, left it another week and got a 10% off voucher which I used and brought the price down. There is someone selling them in the UK from stock that they have but you'll pay a premium for this.

I've rolled up the little triangular rain cover off the end as it flaps about in medium to strong winds. Doesn't affect the waterproof quality in any way and makes sense as I only use the side doors.

I've never slept in a rooftent but just can't quite see why

surely it's a bit wobbly being 6' off the ground on tyres and suspension,

then again I'm fairly reluctant to camp anywhere you can get a vehicle to so maybe that's just me and I guess it's nice to be able to pop-it open in 5 mins flat

Tentbox cargo. Not the cheapest but a brilliant piece of kit. Comfy, warm and well built. Tentbox have a 5 year warranty and a brilliant customer service. Once you sleep in one of these you won’t want to try anything else. Message me for a promo code 👍🏻

No, it feels very solid and secure.

Being up high gets you off the wet ground. One of my nights up high in the French alps it was so wet and windy everyone's tents and stuff was blowing away but I was warm and toasty. With the awning out it was amazing how many people stopped me and asked about it.

Having had one in the past (soft shell Thule), I wouldn’t personally go back to a roof tent. It was cool and always got people wanting to have a look and comment on it when out and about. But I just didn’t feel the benefits at the end of the day so I sold it and went back to a standard tent.

I can set up my 3 man and be just as warm and comfortable. If not more so!
