Could you expand on that please.I wouldn't trust a smart clip
taking the whole mount on and off each time its not going to go back on exactly the same place each time .Could you expand on that please.
What is the realistic safe recognition range of your Thunder please?I have 3 Rusan modular adapters permanently fitted to 3 Swaro Z6i/dS scopes. The mount stays on the scope all the time (I carry muzzle down) and I have absolutely no return to zero issues on any of the rifles. The scope adapter's release ring can be a bit stiff to turn to release the clip-on (Hik Thunder 3 TQ50CL) on occasion, but its almost always a "tension" issue. Instead of trying to do it one-handed with the rifle cradled in my arm, if I slip the rifle back partially into the slip so that the rifle is supported and I can use two hands, one to hold the clip-on and the other to operate the ring, it works much better. I've now been using this arrangement for 18 months and its not an issue.
I personally don’t shoot beyond about 160m with it. Interestingly, watching the video back on replay on my phone after being transferred, that is always clearer that the image I have been seeing in the scopeWhat is the realistic safe recognition range of your Thunder please?
Is that because you don't need to or that you feel that is the comfortable safe limit?I personally don’t shoot beyond about 160m with it. Interestingly, watching the video back on replay on my phone after being transferred, that is always clearer that the image I have been seeing in the scope![]()

That`s because your day scope is magnifying the image, even at its base mag. If wind the mag right up you can see the individual pixels on the screen.I personally don’t shoot beyond about 160m with it. How do you find it performs in comparison to your Stellar please? That`s because your day scope is magnifying the image, even at its base mag. If wind the mag right up you can see the individual pixels on the screen.
What I like about athermal ad on is that that you don`t get the thermal bleed/shimmering from the target when checking zero on higher day scope mag.
I sold the Stellar to help fund the Thunder, so was unable to do a side by side comparison. How do you find it performs in comparison to your Stellar please?
Do you think it is roughly comparable given that the Stellar has a good reputation?I sold the Stellar to help fund the Thunder, so was unable to do a side by side comparison.
I can only tell you that I got on very well with the Stellar would not have sold it by choice. But I now do a lot of close cover woodland stalking and have gone back to a good day optic. So it made sense to have a front add on thermal, although it only gets deployed this time of the year when most of my farmers are lambing and need to sort problem foxes.Do you think it is roughly comparable given that the Stellar has a good reputation?
