Thinking of trying the above in my Tikka T3X for roe and muntjac. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has used these, as at 6.0grams / 93 grains they seem light to me, even for a lead free round,

I tried some in my 7x64

I usually use RWS 160-170 grain but got suckered into buying the RWS green in a 140 odd grain and told they’ll shoot the same as the heavy weight

Not a chance about a 2 inch plus group and double the cost per 20

I use the RWS Evo Green (127 grain) in my Mauser M03 7x64 and it is absurdly accurate and it does everything you can expect a bullet to do. They are chuffing expensive though.

After seeing a recent bullet exit angle on a Sika and with a view to sorting at least one non-lead bullet, have you used these an any of the deer species? I would be interested to know if they'd do a good job on all but the biggest of stags where something else could be used.

Thanks,

I've only used them on roe and muntjac without any issues. I have used RWS HIT's in .30-06 on Sika, with equally good results. I'm no expert, but was told that the Evo Greens are more suited to the smaller species, and the HIT's to bigger animals.

I guess there are not too many people using these so results may be thin on the ground. It maybe better to revisit in another year or so to see if anyone’s used them on Fallow/Sika does/hinds/prickets

Picked up a box today and pretty much putting bullet on bullet at 100 yards. I'll post again once they've been used in the field.
How much did you pay for them? Over here they are a kidney, cornea and half a lung  for 20. Like £120..........and can only be legally used for roe and small game. Accurate though by all accounts.

I have used the RWS HIT bullet in my 7x65r. V accurate. On Roe they work well. But this time last week I shot a Red Stag. It had been lying up, then stood slightly quartering towards me, with look that it was about to run off. So i took a quartering shot through the heart.

it took three paces and then just stood there stiff legged and wavering looking as if it was about to fall over. After about a minute or two it turned sideways on so popped another through shoulder and it went straight down.

On closer inspection when gralloching:

1) I had forgotten quite how big a Red Stag is compared to a Roe. Haven’t shot one for a few years. Nothing wrong with first shot - hole through the heart, but because it hadn’t And as the bullet hadn’t had much resistance And that a red heart is big there was n’t much damage to aorta etc so it was taking a while for blood pressure to reduce. As it was quite low I hadn’t shocked the CNS

2) second shot was high shoulder shot so knocked put the CNS as well.

little damage to carcass.

My reading of all this is that with a harder bullet - put it through the shoulders to get maximum effect.

i have also used the Fox 130gn in my 7x57 and really like it. Every roe I have shot has just dropped at the spot. And they are half the price of RWS ammo.
