Sad day

I feel your pain. I'm down to my last few ounces of H4831. I've a couple of hundred loaded rounds, but once they're gone it'll be time for a new load for the .270
This is what I use in .280, not the fastest but accuracy is fantastic. Luckily have about 5 tubs left to keep me going.

As with lead ammunition, an entirely fabricated harm to human health. Especially given that lead whichnisn't used for ammunition is magically considered not to be so toxic.
Nobody was harmed by the powders banned from the market and because they are magically non-toxic when used by governments, they exemoted themselves from the regulations.

What an uncanny coincidence!

Im guessing you dont have a basic grasp of chemistry then?

When lead is a solid it isnt really an issue. Its when its melted the fumes go into the blood alot easier hence why its bad. Same thing for when it splashes a target and microscopic particles go absolutely everywhere.

Same goes for vibratory case tubmblers, they are horrific for lead particulate.

Its almost like humanity learnt a lesson from leaded petrol and paint, the science does not lie.

Its why ranges have extraction systems

As for the powder its not the powder its self but the manufacturing of the powder thats the issue for the saftey of the workers hence why it was banned.

Your exposure is absolutely nothing to the people that manufacture it.

I am however on the fence risk vs reward on game shot with lead due to the actual exposure you get from it. Its absolutely minimal in comparison to the above.

Glossing over the rest of it and focusing on that "its absolutely minimal", there hasn't been a single recorded incident where someone has lead poisoning through eating shot game. Not a single person.

There's now evidence, that strong word right there, EVIDENCE, to suggest bacon is a carcinogenic. Is that getting banned? They suggest eating 2 slices of bacon a day increases chanced of bowel cancer by 20 percent.

I don't see that outlawed and there's strong, hard facts behind that! Yet its readily available in practically every shop in the UK.

The ban has nothing to do with lead being toxic and there's your proof.

My father died from stomach cancer. He ate lots of lead shot game. We will never know if lead was a contributory factor and the same probably goes for thousands of other deaths as there is no research or monitoring.

What we do know is that lead is a known toxic carcinogen with no known safe dose. We do know that lead levels in blood are raised significantly following ingestion of lead contaminated food.

I’ve made a conscious effort to move to NLA for stuff that gets eaten by humans, especially ones I care about.

A very strong post

Well getting Cancer is a big deal to most folks . There are a fair few more modern powders on the shelves now

I think you will find it’s not the end user who was at risk but the workers manufacturing the propellant.

like when cadmium was once used to plate fasteners, the end user was not at any risk but the workers exposed to cadmium in the plating process were and the environment.
