Bought some of these as we have to shoot factory copper on fc ground
Can’t get better than a 6 inch group and all the holes are tumbling bullets
Federal lead do a one hole group
Anyone else had this problem

I use sako powerhead in 243 with the blaser barrel I got of you ,, used it alot on roe contracts to great effect , happily shoot out in confidence with it

Give the barrel a really good clean. Some have found that monolithic bullets like really clean barrels - something to do with rifling not gripping the bullet when fouled.

Some say cleaning is a myth, but given they are not working and appear to be tumbling, you have little to loose by giving the barrel a deep clean getting rid of any fouling.

Try another brand of ammo. Monolithics are just like any other bullets. Some rifles like some bullets better than others.

A 1 in 10” standard 243 should comfortably stabilise an 80gn monolithic bullet. But some are longer than others. The Fox is a flat based short bullet and tends to work well in most rifles. Barnes and Yew Tree also seem to work well.

The only non lead bullet I have tried in my S&L .243 is Hornady Outfitter CX 80gr and it shoots better than 100gr lead. Standard 1in10 twist rate.

Check the twist rate on the custom rifle
I have a .243 Sako 75, I used 100grain lead and it grouped just fine, I dropped down to 80g Barnes TTSX and I was a little worried, I needn't of, even tighter groups.

Tikka T3 heavy barrel .243. Tried fox ammo, get a better group with my shotgun. Fox factory 5 shots 18" group. I'll stay with 90 gr Sako SP always 1" or less.

I use the 80.5 grain Yew Tree hunter bullets - my rifle groups fine with them. Would recommend them to anyone , but it all depends on the twist rate of your barrel.
