sako or tikka???

tikka v sako

Well!. I have a tikka LSA55 in .243 that has aflat bottom fore end a good palm swell, detachable magazine floating barrel, all the things that i find very practicle, ive had it for thirty years and it still shoots half inch groups at 100 yards, with handloads, i would have to think long and hard before i would change it, simply because it does what lts designed to do. Very well!.
I assume you are aware that they both come ouy of the same factory!.

They have covered all the deirable requirments with there two marks, SAKO, TIKKA.

you make your choice and pay your money.

I honestly feel that if you aplly YOUR requirements to a style that you will not be let down by either of the rifles.

I shoot a Sako Forester in .243win and a while ago was looking at a Tikka in .270, 2nd hand and a good price. But to me, and I may be wrong about this! the build quality of the Tikka was of no comparison to the Sako. Go for the Sako.

John.

I bought a .270 Sako AV left hand. I was shocked when the gunsmith told me it was nearly 30 years old. The barrel is like brand new, it has taken a while to stop myself longing for a newer rifle. But now I am content that I have a rifle by Sako from a time where I believe they were even better made.

i already have a rem 700 and a sako 75 - the rem cost more than the Sako once bits were sorted. Not complaining though as I love it - but they are not a rifle I look to buy anymore unless they have already been worked on.

ive made my mind up anyway and will be after the sako when finances allow.

Good afternoon oh wise members of the lands finest forum....

I am in somewhat of a pickle. 2 rifles in the same cal, condition, barrel length, price (£75 difference) and both blued/wood. Only one slot!!!!

Which would you choose, as I cannot!!!!

Tikka M590
Sako L61r

Sako and Tikka were made in different factories at this time. The Sako L61 is the older and higher quality than even later Sakos. The equivalent Tikka of the period was the M65 in 7mm Rem Mag. The Tikka M590 is more modern and chambered for the 308 family and so I suspect it is actually a M690 (long action). If both are in similar condition the Sako is definitely the one I would go for.

KRS
