Sako Powerhead blades

Try RWS Evo Green. YouTube and general Google will explain the bullet better than me, but it’s a smart design. Used them in 136 and 139 gr .308 and now 93gr 6.5 CM. Few years (150 + animals) of use now and apart from shooter errors no issues. Fox, muntjac, roe, fallow, boar and reds with the .308. 6.5 is new to me this year so only roe so far. Will run the 6.5 93gr stuff through into the fallow season to see how that goes.
I really love RWS but it looks like it’s too much for muntjac which is my main quarry at the monent. I neck shot one which dropped on the spot, after that I chest shot another one where I had to bin front shoulder including one foreleg. Now I have S&B 110 grains, this Sako 162 grains, and Geco 136 grains in my list to try on small deer to see the meat damage. All of these group well on my rifle.

Can the RWS be bought as just bullets ?
Yes, but you need to order them from the likes of Frankonia in Germany. Whoever imports RWS thinks there is no demand in UK for RWS bullets.

I have imported 7mm H Mantle bullets in the past but not since Brexit so feck knows how much additional VAT, and processing fees (no definitely not an import tax) you will have to pay.

No you don't

Interested to hear if the bullets themselves will be available to buy.
I was in my local RFD today and he had 4 boxes of bullets for reloading. £54/50

I bought a box of ammo to see how I get on and then if they work I may see about buying just the bullets.

Any details on cartridge, bullet weight, mv, quarry, range, poi, carcase damage?
Genuinely interested

Never got to try them personally as we were only given two boxes in two cartridges from our order.
Velocity and bullet weight option in .308 worries me slightly as they are 167gr or something similar and only pushing 2650-2700fps

Fine if you are shooting running pigs in germany but a 200m+ roe in the chest is a different situation
I’ve got some 120grain power head blades in 308. I’m yet to try them though. They are sold as “copper rx”

Interesting. The load data has been in Vihtavuori tables for some time, if the bullet code is 633A. I think RX means Rapid eXpansion.

Haven't heard of them here in Finland, maybe Sako is afraid that somebody tries them on moose since the legislation was amended two years ago so that 120gr non-lead is allowed...
