fancy a sako quad and like to know if anyone as got one and used a pard nv008 on it, my thinking is using the 5 different profiles on the pard for different calibre barrels on the quad, your thoughts please, thanks ray

I have a Finnfire II which is essentially a Quad without the barrel change possibility. Lovely little .22LR. One thing about the real Quad that I have read is that in some cases the scope height can prevent you from making the barrel swap. If you are after one then make sure you research this.

Cheers

The Sako Quad was a good idea. And indeed is a good rifle. I have got one in .17hmr. But many people found in practice that the faffing around changing barrels and magazines was, well, too much of a faff when all you wanted to do was take the rifle out and use it. Even if you have got the zero problem sorted. I think that's why, in the end, they were discontinued and the Finnfire was reborn. However, if you intend putting a pretty expensive night vision on it, then it possibly makes more sense.

Even if you decided to keep a day scope up to x56 objective lens on the rifle you can still change barrels if you use high mounts as you don't have to raise the barrel very high to get clearance.

I've had a quad for a while overall great gun. There is no faffing changing the scope when changing the barrel. I zeroed the .22 left scope on and then zeroed the 17hmr
.22 is on 0 and the 17hmr is 9. The scope rings are high enough that the barrel can be removed without having to take the scope of. Done the same with my 4k pro keeps zero across three calibres.

I've thought of doing that with mine but wonder is there any shift when changing over?
nope!
