Salmond v Sturgeon

For those who have watched it, are we looking at the demise of N . S. and her husband et al and the struggle for a new leader or Alex having his jab and going in to a care home for the 'not convicted but almost' ?

Salmond has played an absolute blinder. He was asked if he wanted to make a closing statement and by feck he did; he has offered the committee all the information which the government are withholding from his solicitors which is apparently legal under some part of the Scotland Act - Brilliant!!

“It’s up to you whether you want it and you will have to deliberate it but you’ll have it by Monday before you interview the next witness on..... Monday I think”....... ice cold!!

I hope he has legally blindsided the SG in which case I would be confident Sturgeon will be required to resign - but they need to agree to ask for it!!

I expect that COPFS are frantically trying to find a way to prevent this happening and I would imagine Mr Wolffe QC may not have a nice time next week, given his performance in Holyrood yesterday.

He was very careful not to openly throw Sturgeon under the bus - I don’t like him but he is the excellent orator he always was.

Oh those poor committee members - doomed if they do and doomed if they don’t. Nice move fat boy.

Poor committee members? Pah! The SNP members in particular were still trying to convict Salmond on charges which he was found not guilty of once already, and their lack of intelligence was there for all to see. I've said once before on this forum that the talent pool in the SNP is not deep, and that was on show once again.

Maureen Watt MSP in particular doesn’t hide the fact she is asking questions that don’t appear to be hers as she can’t even ask them without sounding like she doesn’t really know what she’s asking.

A guy i work with, who is a weegie, and is a registered member of SNP Party and has been a fund raiser for them says to me she will not quit.
He cannot stand her, and what she has done to the SNP incidentally.
He watched the whole thing on TV today and was impresses with Salmond.

I agree he is either a consumate and very experienced liar or he is telling the truth.
Interesting that he had to outline a way the Commission could get to the redacted evidence which he said PROVED Sturgeon was lying. He isn't so stupid to provide the means for his own downfall - rather more likely that he is telling the truth and whilst he is odious that should not be justification for scapegoating. He has admitted incorrect sexual behaviour but that was not the subject of his trial so are we looking at a conspiracy to ensure his political demise ?
The associated allegation that people were pressured into giving evidence against Salmond when the Polis could not find it, makes this a conspiracy - if proved, or accepted as proved, for that they will need the redacted evidence - no guesses why it was redacted then.

The next few days are going to be amusing...... the pro Sturgeon media are going to be going into overdrive to make out that Salmond is just a bitter and twisted old fumbler and has concocted all the conspiracy theories that he can. The anti Sturgeon media will be sniggering away, waiting to see who she throws under the bus first - the list includes, the civil service , the legal team and her "husband" along with any MSP's or MP's who have shown her less than undying respect. She will also be trying to come up with enough ammunition for her own appearance in front of the "Inquiry" to fire off a few accusatory shots at Mr Fumble and his supporters.
Increasingly, the whole fiasco just shows that the SNP is a festering pit of back stabbing pit vipers and none of whom have come out with any dignity or honesty. Will the brow beaten morons that voted SNP care - nope, of course not, because the dross media will continue to cheer Krankie on and say she's much better than Boris and rake up every anti Westminster/English slur they can. However, my hope is that a sufficient number of voters will begin to realise they've been conned for the last fourteen long years and a change is needed - and in the ensuing melt down of the SNP, Sturgeon will have no option other than to go off into the sunset to enjoy her "family" life!
After all the main reason she wanted Scotland to remain in the EU was that she always wanted to be able to saunter off to Europe as the new "Madame Ecosse" and go round glad handing all the other free loaders....... looks like she's not going to achieve her wishes any time soon.

I was wondering about that also. Maybe an unattributed leak to the Daily Record of some of the evidence Salmond is unable to quote ........
Would be nice, eh. I guess the challenge is that any newspaper would presumably find themselves in contempt of court (or Scottish equivalent) if they were to publish it? It is really bloody annoying.
