For me, these "family connections" are a big part of what is wrong right now with the country. You don't appear to get a job in public life in Scotland nowadays without being an SNP supporter. I strongly suspect that the arts and theatre groups, the various quango's, Nature Scotland, sporting bodies, etc. are led by SNP members. This is just not healthy, and will not necessarily lead to the most talented person getting the job.
When the two people that have headed the Covid response (including dentist Jason Leith) are openly SNP supporters and have got the job over eminent doctors such as Hugh Pennington (who is openly anti-independence), that rings further alarm bells.
Finally, take a look at how many family members either work for an MSP or MP, and how many family members also go on to become an MP or MSP - it's astounding (although the Kinnocks are one example which shows us that it's not confined to the SNP). The issues with Leslie Evans are just an extension of the whole problem.
The dentist at these COViD ‘briefings’ is hilarious. His conceited, superior attitude when a prof of virology tells him if he really thinks he’s going to eradicate coronavirus he’s got his head up his arse.

Forgive the obvious lack of knowledge, god knows we have enough to cope with on this side of the Irish Sea, and setting aside the BNP, sorry SNP connection - why/how is a dentist getting anywhere near the C19 briefings and more to the point why has no-one challenged him/this?

Ooooh! Easter comes early to Holyrood, we have the cross, we have the nails, we even have the hammer. Anyone got a sponge and some vinegar? Mrs Krankie is already wearing the crown of thorns and Pontious Salmond is waiting in the wings clutching a spear. How exciting!!!

I’d be hard pressed to argue against that perspective.
For me, whatever she says will no longer provide the fig leaf of defence a 'normal' person would need to survive.
For a Scottish (or Welsh) First Minister to be in this position with her predecessor as her accuser means that Scotland's values have changed. It is worth looking at what credibility she will have left even if what she says is half true and half lies.
Scotland's best interests will be served by rooting out this pack defence mentality and finding a few more MSP's and civil servants other jobs.
I feel the same about DEFRA, and particularly No 10. I would love to see some of the paramours mail to DEFRA.

if the whole picture will be revealed then 8 is a very conservative figure. Has the potential to put Profumo well into the shade, IMO.

I found Wolffe a difficult man to love during his evidence today (of which I only grabbed a few snippets).
Shame for Mrs Krankie, most of the budget has been leaked and the main event is not until 5.00pm!!

There’s no doubt things are getting warmer for her but given two-thirds of the Scottish electorate hold her in very high regard (backed by evidence not conjecture) I agree with many commentators that her future will come down to the performance she gives today.

Would not that esteem (which curiously does not translate into her party having a majority in the assembly) be founded on the notion that she has hitherto been viewed in the media as honest, open and truthful, even though there is clearly evidence which casts serious doubt on this, and thereby the effection of ’affection’?

Two-thirds = less than half. Unbelievably a lot of folk still see her as an honest person doing a good job (which is not backed by evidence at all!), but that is maybe only in comparison with BoJo
