cheers stone :)

i have 15 factory 55gn ballistic tips and 10 factory 85gn hollow points to use up on live quarry, before i intend to use my reloads, so plenty of time to get things sorted before i hunt with my own

after using up my factory ammo supply, i'm proud to announce that last night i "popped my cherry" with my homeloads on live quarry! :-D

Great, well done etc. You might want to go for series of 5 or 6 for determining grouping. Quite often you will find that the first shot (cold shot) of a series isn't part of the group. A lot has been written about explaining this (some good and some utter nonsense), but it is there and to be taken into consideration. For target shooting you need to know the difference between the cold shot and the follow-ups; I would think as a hunter your more interested in the cold shot, so when shooting to check your loads you might want to ensure that the barrel has cooled down properly again in between shots. (also prevents those burns!) Have fun, Rene.
