Shot one at an open day. Couldn't remove the bolt without adjusting the cheek piece. In off the shelf rifles, I think Tikka T3's take a lot of beating.Any one got one ? Pros cons looking at one of these or a Sako finnlite 2. Or browning x bolt pro.
I already have a tikka in a PSE stock. Just fancying something else. Use will be stalking only
Thank you, I have two T3s. I’m just fancying treating myself to something else. The Sauer is lovely looking. Will go and have another look at one again later today.Shot one at an open day. My experienced firearms dealer tell's me they ain't as good as the older 202 so if it was I that's what I'd be looking forAny one got one ? Pros cons looking at one of these or a Sako finnlite 2. Or browning x bolt pro.

But seriously the thing that bothers me about all the new kit is the cost and the fact that newcomers believe that you need 10K of rifle, optic and knife to get a deer.
Although I have no problem with people spending their hard earned on whatever they want I do get a warm fuzzy feeling when I hear about people using cheap kit and still being successful.
Hello
A lot of technology applied on materials that do not convince me.
I must be objective
I know very active hunters, who use it since they were released, and they are Happy.
I've seen one severely cracked from not laying the groundwork right.
It was a 202 of similar materials to the 404
So if you buy one, be careful with that

£3200 for a factory rifle is eye watering. The old 202 were what, £1600 for a base model? They value the thumbhole stock at £1600 then?
I get the feeling this line of rifle is aimed at folks determined to blow a ton of money at a marquee brand without really considering the alternatives.I’d take my £3k to Steve Kershaw, Callum Ferguson or Ronin off here and see what they can do for you.
I’ve seen all sorts of rifles with faults, I’ve never had an issue with sauers in over a decade so I don’t think it’s fair to say because you have seen one it means all have an issue.
i think the thing that appeals with sauers to me is the quality of the components, the accuracy, the trigger function, silent safety, the fact it’s a take down rifle with swappable barrels and the fact they are ilaflon coated so don’t rust.
a hard package to beat.
sure, you will get less expensive rifles that may do the job, but that’s like saying there’s no point buying a highperformance car because a Kia does the job....if you feel that way knock yourself out, but I think it’s hard to argue with Sauer’s heritage and reputation for quality firearms and products.

Hello
I don't know where, I have written what you mention.
I said that they are materials that do not convince me. I also mention that there are many experienced users, who are satisfied with their Sauer.
I just suggested to fine-tune the bases so that problems like this don't happen
I am a respectful prewar Sauer weapon user.
I admire their old weapons, not the new.
I don't like modular weapons.
But it's just my opinion and my taste
Best regards
