I know I'm probably going to upset a few people by saying this, but here goes.
There are probably thousands of unwanted dogs currently homed in various sanctuaries around the country. What with puppy farmers and people knocking out litters to make a few quid on the side. Especially with christmas around the corner theres bound to be the old dogs getting booted out to make room for new ones and the pups that loose their novelty after a few weeks all looking for homes.
Now if the MOD deems these dogs to be unsuitable for rehoming for whatever reason, thats entirely upto them. And I'm sure its not a decision they take lightly. But as dogs that have been trained, I'm assuming for aggressive roles its probably not in anybody's best interest to have them released into the general public. They have served their country and done a good job but in reality it is probably kinder to the animal to be put to sleep rather than try to readjust to an environment that is totally alien to them and to act in totally the opposite manor to which they've been trained since birth.
If you want to rehome a dog there are hundereds of them just down the road all of which will make amaizing pets. But with all respect the fate of these military dogs should rest with those who know best.
