For those of you who have an hour to fill in your day, have a watch. The Save Valley Conservancy is key to preserving the biodiversity of the area and owes its self largely to several generations of the Whitall family. Roger has passed the reigns onto his son, former Zimbabwean cricketer, Guy Whitall.

Episode 2 :

I know the lions in the 2nd vid need culling for conservation issues , but

That's like baiting a fox , fish in a barrell

Not for me , might as well play a video game , nowt great about that IMO,

Not knocking it , but

Far too easy a shot to bag a truely magnificent beast ,

Lazy hunting, not tracked and hunted ,

As said not knocking it but ........ I suppose needs must ,to keep the balance of nature

But that's not tracking and hunting the beast , it's clearly been baited for a while ( it's in great condition )

@Kjf The killing of cats is a hugely controversial topic and it is easy to upset people with it. I will say though that a big problem that a 30 minute clip has is that it doesnt show the graft for any of these animals. You cannot squeeze the miles in that people track buff/elephant in, in the same way that baiting 30 spots over a huge area for leopard doesnt make for good footage. A hell of alot goes into getting any wild cat in Africa and possibly the videos do the PH/his team a disservice as they cannot document the hours put in (i know a guy who targeted leopard in western zim and he didnt shoot one until his 9th trip/attempt). I hope you enjoyed the rest of the footage.

Lazy hunting , and I know we have all shot fox , boar over bait stations and , I know that these lions probably needed culling and I agree with it

totally agree mate , as said not knocking it , I'd shoot anything , as long as there's a reason behind doing so

I'm just a soft git , n want to put in the miles for any beast
The vids are great mate , gotta do Australia and Africa before I pop off

I agree, I chose Cameroon for my lion hunt as baiting for them is prohibited, we called lions which was very exiting but the hunt was predominantly tracking.

Out of interest, when you are calling there, what animal are you mimicking?

I was lucky enough to hunt PG and Buffalo in the Save in 2001 and 2009, and I'm booked in for Buffalo in March 2022. Can't wait!
