Am looking at a secondhand S&B 2.5-10X56 Classic. It has serial number 173245.

Is there any way I can found out what age it is?

That's the nice thing about Schmidt & Bender, just send them an e-mail or phone.
I did that a few years ago to check the age of a second hand 3-12x50

I have just bought the same scope also second hand and didn't know anything about it so i sent an email to S&B last night at about midnight and they had replied by 8 this morning that is seriously good service.Also i if i want an illuminated ret retro fitted it will cost 700+ euros probably cheaper to sell this one and buy ill ret scope
