Scone Game Fair October.

If only it was a mild disease for those who weren't vulnerable. It is a serious disease and shouldn't be taken lightly. Causing problems with lung perfusion, forming blood clots and multiple organ failure. It is just not another strain of flu....

If you read my post I did say for the vulnerable it will be a nasty disease. I fully appreciate the dangers of catching it. But there are plenty of other nasty Infectious diseases - TB, AIDs etc that we have learned to live with and manage. Indeed we have learnt with them so well that our government, authorities and health service completely abandoned all the protocols for managing infectious disease.

We no longer have isolation hospitals that are completely seperate - instead we just use other wards in the same facility. And there was no advice at all about treatment in the community. I had COVID - I think - but no way to get tested. I was pretty ill for nearly two weeks but theconly advice was when you cant breath then we will send an ambulance.

The UK death rate has been far to high and lay the blame firmly at the doors of Government for prevaricating for far too long before entering lock down. If they had done so ten days earlier we would all be getting on with our lives now.

And its not as if we didn’t have warning signals or examples of say Italy either.

It isn't just a nasty disease for the vulnerable. Plenty of healthy people have fallen to this horrific disease. It's like saying oh it's just a bad cold, no, no it really isn't. It is a killer and the people that have had it are lucky to survive. Unsure of your medical knowledge but ask any health professional, I'm sure there are a handful on here, doctors including and they won't just tell you it's a cold or h1n1. It's not just sepsis. Forgive me, but all public events and pubs etc opening today should not be going ahead nor for the foreseeable future until it is under control.

Can’t attend on the new dates, but paid for the tickets earlier in the year.
Can’t see anything on the website other than tickets already purchased will be valid in October.
Anyone know the route to a refund?

Pretty good level of medical knowledge- working with companies developing tests for Covid, i have several colleagues who medical ans scientifically trained. I also have leading (albeit now retired) epidemilogists in the family. Agree that Covid is Nasty, but so too is pneumonia, Cancer or even a common cold if you are vulnerable. Those who were healthy should not have not died from Covid. The reason they did was because they were not treated early enough - basic medical practice is to treat things early.

We should have testing and providing treatment at early onset of symptoms - not waiting until at a critical stage and putting them on ventilators - by which time the disease has got hold and its too late.

And agree its nuts to be opening up pubs etc now. Whilst irritating I think The devolved countries have it correct with 5 mile limits and pubs etc not open for another couple of weeks. At least then you have it well undercontrol and no need for a 2nd wave.

In England, plenty of scientists I have been speaking with reckon there will be another big wave once weather gets bad and everybody is indoors again.

Unlikely.
I've found the quality and relevance of the show to have dropped a bit in the last few years and the past few visits have ended in me not buying a thing.

To be fair, if it was in August I likely still wouldn't go.

Scone Game fair is not about shopping for me. It's about blethers, chats, catching up etc....a social occasion. In fact. I'm usually lucky if I get to see it all, spending far too much time chattering, and spongeing drink. So on that basis I will probably go. Especially as it only takes half an hour to get there! Just depends on the current state of the pox.

With the pubs opening and people back at work this virus will undoubtedly peak. We have already had a city locked down, and more may be in the pipe line, people do not listen. Thousands on beaches, local pubs not far from me in small villages had police calming revellers with the police dogs on Saturday. Idiots spoil it for the people trying to do the right things. I can see lots of venues calling it off this year.

I enjoy my days at the Scone Game Fair and usually take advantage of early bird tickets but this year I will wait until we see hope CV-19 pans out. I would like to support the show and the traders and as some have said, it cant be any worse that a trip to the supermarket!

Yes I will be going we have to get back to normal or something like. Even if the little Cranky would like it to go on forever playing the great statesman (that she definitely is not)

if it is on i will go. the highland game fair at moy hall is no longer worth going to unless you are looking for a ladies hat or kids toy.
