Scope mounts for tikka t3x tactical

I need some advice for scope mounts on my new rifle which is a tikka t3x tactical i have a nightforce nxs 3.5-15x50 which has a 30mm tube. What mounts would be the most suitable for it picatinney rail?

I’ve seen only good things mentioned of tier one mounts. I haven’t used them as I have optilocks.

I'd be very surprised if the low Tier One would allow fitting of a large objective scope. The extended/full length rail will mean the scope will be fouled.

That said, Tier One are great, nicely made. However, if your budget allows I'd be looking to grace that rifle with a bomb-proof one-piece mount. Spuhr springs to mind, but they're the best part of £300.

Otherwise, Recknagel, Tier One,

Leupold or Warne.

Measure carefully before ordering. You need to know where the objective sits in relation to the extended rail, and don't forget to allow for a scope cover/flip-up.

You could just use an AI one piece mount in 30 mm or 34 with reducing rings. Not glamorous but bombproof and sensibly priced. Alternatively Ihave used Vortex rings on a Tikka Tac as well.

What about the Burris 30mm XTR signature rings?
Burris xtr signature low 30mm rings would be perfect. I have 1 inch low ones on my tikka ctr with a 50mm objective. Here's a pic with my my krg bravo stock as well

They used to do an optilock to fit a rail in various heights and phosphate finish not sure if they still do

I recon the strongest rifle scope connection you will achieve would be with the Spuhr one piece mount that goes directly onto the T3X rail. Second best would be a Spuhr rail on top of the T3 and then a one piece Spuhr mount. Spuhr also make lighter weight hunter style mounts. Possibly the best finished mounts I ever had.

I've used 1.5" height Burris XTR Signature rings on my 6.5mm Creedmoor T3x Tac A1. They are MOA adjustable, nicely made and aren't silly expensive. Like yours, my 'scope has a 50mm objective and 30 mm tube and they give just about enough clearance under the rail to get a flip-up cover on. I've set it up with 20MOA of cant so I can comfortably get out to 1200 yards and beyond. Recommended.

You would need the 1.5" mounts for the tac A1 as the rail extends out past the objective bell.
The 1" will be fine with all the other tikka models.

I've just bought a set of warne permanents for my minox to sit on top of my (ordered) ctr. £54 delivered. Never had an issue with these mounts on any of my guns.

My tikka t3x tactical fell one evening while we were out deer stalking and was put of and with our old optilock mounts that we had on the tikka t3 lite never went off zero, we have a nightforce nxs 3.5-15x50

DNZ are well worth a look. They screw direct onto the top of the receiver. Made of aluminium and CNC machined they are light and strong with no joints between mount and scope. Usually £55-80. You might have to get them posted across from the US but in my opinion they’re well worth it.

Depends on how much you want to spend? Tier One are nice and can be had for £80 second hand.

I’ve just ditched the rail on my CTR and gone for one of the new direct mount Spuhr hunting one piece mounts.
