Scott Country, Big thumbs down from me.

In recent years I have bought several items from Scott Country, thermal spotter and night vision scope, and have always been happy with the purchases. My son bought me an early Christmas present, a Pulsar forward night vision. I took a few weeks to try it out, and wasn’t initially very impressed, I even considered buying a stronger IR. I made a concerted effort to improve the image, and succeeded. I could see no information through the scope though, there should be a lower tool bar that I couldn’t see. The add on is fitted to a fixed 8x50 Swarovski, and this information was given to SC when ordered. The 8x is too powerful, so you get a cropped image, this isn’t mentioned anywhere in the description, and SC were not interested. They did suggest buying another less powerful scope, 5x or 6x max. Pulsar suggest connecting the scope to your phone, they also admit that 8x is at the maximum, but again no mention in their advertising. So no more future purchases from SC for me, just trying to give good advice to potential problems that others may have with this add on.

It was a gift off my son, and he bought it on the information he gave SC. I know he wouldn’t have bought, if the seller had explained the limited features of this particular combination of scope and add on. I’m sure you’d feel the same if it happened to you.

Paid in full for a Habrok a month in advance, based on the Scott Country promise i will get one from the first batch. Guess what? It didn't happened and it took many calls and emails for the refund to be released.
Thumb down from me too !

Manufacturer says it’s suitable so SC we’re quite honest with you were they not ?
Sounds like buyers regret and looking for someone to blame.

I understand you’re ****ed off but trying to shame a company on a public forum likely isn’t the way forward.
Given that they’ve now read this and are unlikely to offer any further help

Thanks for all your comments. I am not trying to shame SC, I told them my intentions of putting it on a public site, and I am not looking for sympathy. They did suggest buying a less powerful scope, which contradicts their earlier description of it being suitable for a 8x scope. There is no description of this combination of an 8x scope giving you a cropped image in any information I can find. There is also no mention of a phone being used, if it is being fitted to a x8 scope because the lower tool bar is not visible through the scope. I did not want a refund, I was willing to pay extra if needed for something else, but they were not interested.

You have my sympathy, I also went down the 455 route.I was never happy with it on several scopes. I upgraded to the new model and again found it a pain. It would be manageable with a better IR and 100 yards. My problem is I have hill foxes and once you are in there environment they are a lot smarter and less responsive to calls. A longer shot is the norm. Currently using a pard ds 35x70 lrf with a solaris IR. Depending on the back ground I can see clear enough to hit out to 350yards. 6.5 info in the calculator. Had to tweak the speed slightly. Cant fault it. Waiting on a new Alpex to compare with.

I think your gripe is with Pulsar, not Scott Country. Pity you hadn’t tried it within the period covered by your statutory rights.

So , you bought the wrong thing , which is not faulty , and it’s Scott Country’s fault
Correct 👍

Gave them scope size then purchased.

It doesn’t fully function with that size, looked into it themselves & found the product not suitable for it’s intended use.

No support in any capacity from a company that does know better of customer satisfaction, consumer rights & trading standards.

That’s difficult with a gift.

Who next Xmas wants to buy a gift on the 24th & hope they still got some.

Selling multiple units on the run up to Xmas they already know thiis. Poor show.

This is the best thing about using your local, there’s minimum standards written in law which still get ignored by larger companies who focus on purchase targets & retail sales forecast.
While the local serves well just going the extra mile.

Online is far from all it’s cracked up to be, initial saving is long forgotten when your left like this

Couldn’t agree more.
But…distance selling does have legislation to protect the consumer. Even if it wasn’t faulty, the buyer has 14 days to cancel the transaction.
The unit isn’t faulty. It just won’t function fully with that particular scope.
To the OP…have you tried contacting Thomas Jacks?

Had an issue today after updating a pulsar xp50 LRF pro. Can't fault Tim. He spent time out of his day to go over the set up and bring about the end to a frustrating day. The LRF and ballistic app were out of sync. Can't thank him enough.

Must admit not had any dealings with them for a while.
But always been very pleasant blokes used to go in a bit when it was still a gunship.
1 time in particular they went well out of their way for me and all FoC.

Reading the thread I do think it's very harsh to be calling them out, they haven't advised anything outwith the manufacture recommendations.
They're could even be a chance of a miscommunication over the phone unless ur son knew exactly wot ur set up was and asked the right questions
