scratched on snare

Hi, I released a fox from a snare today, afterwards I accidentally got poked in the finger from one of the frayed wires. there was a drop of blood. should I go see a doctor?

why did it have rabbies/mange/foot and mouth? wash your hands with disinfectant then into a bowl of warm very salty water and dry.you will live. why did you release the fox or had you killed it first? in the uk we have to use non locking snares so have to shoot any animal in the snare.in europe you can still use strangling /self tightening snares so why release the fox just replace the damaged snare with a new one.

I'm serious. Is there any risk of rabies or whatever from it?

In case your wondering, the scared fox lived to hunt another day... but thats not my point.

it looked fairly healthy as it scampered off, although drenched from the rain. It was trying very decisively to bite me but I wouldnt blame it.

Do you have rabies in the area? If so I’d say it would be a sensible precaution to speak to a doctor about any kind of jabs etc. Presume you’re up to date with tetanu etc?

It was not the target. a fully grown fox would not have been able to get its head in the gap. it was a young one.

When was the last time you had a tetanus jab?

My mother in law got sepsis from shaving her legs...

To make you sleep easier see a doc.

I have been bitten by two foxes and one was a ripping bite.I didn't bother the Doc,just a wash with some dettol and a bit of taping and all was fine.Tetanus shots if you have had one I believe are good for 7-8 years, one of the Doc`s on here can clarify that if I`m way out.
