So. We have 5 Secacam 7 and they have been great. Sadly one won’t turn on just get the red led flashing. I have looked and it appears there’s a new firmware to install that cures it and also gives software updates over air. Anyone done this yet?

I had to send mine back, the red led of death, I got a new one as still under guarantee, there is a firmware update available but how can you do one when it won't turn on?
I suggest contact ZEISS direct if out of guarantee.

They are only a few months old. Frustrated as we have had fly tipping on the estate and I moved the camera last week that would have caught them. Went to put it back and changed batteries now it won’t work at all! I’ve filled in a service ticket with ZEISS to see, but if no help it will go back to Simpson bros as under warranty.

ZEISS responded this morning with a firmware update. Loaded it onto the camera and it’s working again.very quick response, bank holiday in Germany yesterday and sorted by 9am. If you get red led flashing and it appears dead, there is a solution.

2 further cameras down with the same issue. Not impressed with this. I’ve tried loading the firmware they sent last time as they told me I could use it on any camera and it would work. Doesn’t seem to. Amazing when they work but frustrated.

I had the same problem, contacted Zeiss and they sent me a new SD card with the new firmware on it. Sorted.
