Selling Jam?

Hi,
Friend of my wife has started making jam at home and selling it at car boot sales. (Quite successfully it seems.)
Wifey asked him about H&S issues and he said he’d got the necessary certificate.
For anyone know what the regulations are concerning a project such as this?
Thank, Ken.
Ps. He’s elderly and we wouldn’t want him getting into trouble with higher authority.

Have a look at the guidelines for "Country Markets", what was formerly known as the Women's Institute Markets.
I can remember my both my mother and my wife selling farm/smallholding produce, including baking, jams, chutney etc, at these monthly events, and all that was required then was a basic food hygiene certificate. And maybe a kitchen inspection.
You could also ask the organisers of your nearest Farmer's Market what their stipulations for producers are.

I have the necessary certification for a lot of things for which I deem certification unnecessary.
