shooting gloves recommendations

Asking for a novice (me) - Given the temperatures are dropping, can anyone recommend some warm shooting gloves that still allows you to get your finger in to pull the trigger - or do folk go fingerless? Thanks in anticipation! Terry

I've seen vids of a well known high bird shooter who just uses work gloves, thin material, tight fitting but with grip. I'd consider wearing nitrile gloves, as they at least keep hands dry.
I have MacWet gloves, but if they don't fit your hands snugly they're a pest. I also have Sealskinz with fold back trigger fingers, but the leather in the grip area isnt grippy enough.

Macwet in the summer for concealment, but find them cold and wet in the winter if you touch anything.

Best winter glove ive found is the Laksen Moscow. Mine are on their third game season and used weekly for stalking and still holding up well.

Yep the Laksens are good. I use them if I am going to be a little more static.

If I am on the move, I still use an ancient pair of leather femetta gloves. Really my favourite gloves in terms of fit and dexterity retention.

Macwetts to shoot in as long as it’s not too cold. Have some Harkila Gortex ones for when it’s cold and wet but I have to slip the right one off when I am going to shoot

I’ve also got macwet, glad I tried them on before as I needed a smaller size than thought.
My sealskins on the other hand I needed a bigger size than I thought, I got XL but have always thought I’ve got short fat hands.

Can't wear them. Just don't seem to have the feel if I wear gloves. I've got a couple of pairs I've tried, but although I guess it's okay when all is sorted ready to fire, I'd have to take them off to find rounds to reload, get anything out of a pocket, look at my 'phone, pick my nose etc. Even when standing in a windswept, cold and wet field with a shotgun, wondering if the beaters have nipped off home, I still can't get on with wearing a pair. So my hands end up freezing. Or they take it in turns to be in a pocket. Then I get the chance of a shot and I'm all fingers and thumbs. Hey ho.

Ex army (german are good)
Mechanix are good as well
Decathlon ok
A pair of leather yellow work gloves dyed brown are toasty.

Tried macwets - summer only in my experience.

Whats the intended use? for game shooting stood on a peg its Macwet gloves. For stalking in the cold I like the thicker military surplus leather ones that are lined, far to thick to pull the trigger with so once the shots on i loose the glove. I find the gloves with slots to get your trigger finger out our too much of a fiddle. Sat up a very cold highseat I've some Austrian military surplus mittens that are roasty toasty...

Macwet are ok, but if you want warm hands, search fleabag for soldier 95 pattern leather, goretex gloves. Cheap enough to cut a finger off if you want to use them to shoot with.

As well as suffering from jacketitis, I have the same affliction in gloves. When it's warm I wear fingerless gloves. For shotgun work I have fingerless gloves with a folding back mitt. When it's cold I wear mitts and take the right mitt off once I'm in a firing position.
