Show Us Your Rabbiting Knife

I use swiss army knife. pinch blade between finger and thumb so only about 3/8" is exposed. poke into just below sternum and run blade tip of blade down. Empty guts out the poke hole through back leg so rabbits can be coupled of hung

Like this and his bigger brother so much I bought a spare set just in case...

My question is.....how much does it cost to replace a £ 200.00 knife.....

200 quid....so they are in the hole for 400....lol

You can paunch a rabbit with its own teeth just a nick in the soft belly and tear it open....far too many stamp collectors turn shooters lol

I like opinels

Or if your a soft git , on a barb on barbed wire ,

Tear open with your hands n flick the innards , Outwards

Split n flick , daniel son lol

No mate fraid not he’s a hieraeatus spilogaster “African hawk eagle”. Will tackle any quarry rabbits, pheasants partridge hares. Has even done a muntjac (accidentally) not bad for a small eagle flying weight 3lbs

Called a Gerber Vital. Blades are £20 for a dozen.

Skinned a muntie with it once. Must admit its too flexible for that job.
They look the same as the Havalon piranta and take a 60a surgical blade. They're about £12 for 12 online and cheaper if you can find them just in generic packaging. It's the handle that is expensive🤦🏻‍♂️

A Frosts (Mora), purchased in Sweden years ago for a few quid, which is easy to get really sharp, or a stainless folder of unknown make bought by my wife when in Copenhagen (great too for doing deer back-ends or slitting muntjac jaws to guess age from the teeth). Oh, and a camera shy Opinel, as well.

Interesting.... some nice bits shown on here.

Have used the three below for ages.... top one is about 80 years old now and has done more African game than can be remember but still does the odd rabbit its a Zwilling from about 1950 or 52 maybe a bit earlier, the Gerber bought in Texas to help a mate skin a hog which was spit roasted a few years ago, the Kershaw is a favourite and nearly always in my pocket, gutted a number of rabbit, but also gutted and skinned a mix of stuff from snoek to springbok

Missing is the Anglo Arms folder and a swiss army knife, still looking for my desired skinning and jointing fixed blade knives.......

Bought this close to 40 yrs ago from a little country fair just outside Newton longville bucks was marketed as the rabbiter made by wrights of Sheffield it's sorted a good few bunnys over the yrs ,doesn't need much to keep it sharp probably the best 15 quid I've ever spent on a knife ,but then I've got a 45yr old opinal that only cost me 5.
