Sightron scopes

I am looking for high magnification (50ish) and fine adjustment (1/8 moa click or so) scope. I was looking at Sightron because they are well known scopes and in my price range (@£1000 new). I have never had Sightron scope.
Have you had one and would you recommend it for long range target shooting?

I've got an STAC 2.5x17.5x56.

No issues with low light. Great scope. It's in a different league to the Vortex I used to have.

STac is not a proper Sightron
The Siii is the only one I would have and it’s low light performance is surprisingly good

I also have an Siii “Big Sky” in a 3.5-10x56 which is on a par with big names for light
Am sure transmission machines would detect a difference, but my bloodshot eyes can’t determine a significant difference

I have three Sightron scopes (but not the specific model you are after...):
  • 6x42 fixed
  • Sightron 'Hunter' 1.75-4 x 32
All perform perfectly well, and I can highly recommend this Brand as offering excellent multi-coated, gas-filled, waterproof, quality optics at a very reasonable price point.

No, not given Sightron's recent price reductions. I bought a Sightron scope and shortly afterwards the retail price was halved, so in less than a year my scope is worth approximately a third of what I paid for it.

I had an stac, not used for long range, it was on a stalking rifle, during the day it was ok, but once the sun went down it was absolute shite, you couldn't make anything out. Needless to say, I didn't keep it.

Which model?
The 2.5-17.5x56 was supposedly highly regarded but then they made a cheaper S-tac 4-20x50 for way half the price.

I believe it we also made to a much smaller budget.

Same here, but I removed the best scope out there for low light, a Schmidt and Bender, I couldn't use it with a Pard, so I use it as a normal deer stalking rifle with the Stag, then when it gets too dark I go home, I don't like staying out too late just in case things go wrong.
Pard fitted for foxing and its a great pairing.
Cheers

I use a Falcon X50 10-50×60 for long range target shooting with my 7x57. It is closely related to a Sightron and has an excellent bright image on a par with my Schmidt & Bender scopes, with a nice uncluttered reticle - I suspect it comes out of the same factory. The customer service by Falcon is great as my first one developed a tendency to have little black specks landing on the reticle, that looked like flaked off anodising and they replaced it with a new scope. It has a narrow field of view so I wouldn't recommend it for hunting. Also you need to make sure your scope rail is properly aligned with the barrel as at extremes of windage you can see the edge of the tube in the image. X50 10-50×60 SFP Riflescope MOA

Yes it was the stac 4-20 x 50 (i think), it was bought so i could use a pard on my stalking/foxing rifle, but it just didn't make the grade for that, so the s&b went back on. Sold the stac and the pard.

Yes they were a much more budget scope than the S-Tac 2.5-17.5 - which were the ones everyone raved about.

Then they introduced the 4-20 model which wasn’t anywhere near as good, although to be fair it was about 50% of the price.

I have 2 1 used for long range gongs etc the other on a Foxing because used with an Archer NV its just superb.
Its not as good in low light as Swaro but it isnt the price of Swaro.

I have the sightron s tac 4-20x50 which is a very good scope for add on night vision (Archer) but very poor at dusk when used as a stalking scope.
