slimline and "off the shoulder" rucksacks

nice
not done mine yet
plan on a foldaway sack that is in the backpack when not in use and attaches to the rings and clips when in use

compression straps to pull it all into the backpack

Will you rely just on the QR clips to hold the sack when full, or shoulder straps as well? I'd be worrying about the strength of the QR clips with anything bigger than a roe.

no, weight through the d rings and onto the d rings on the straps themselves
QR clips just to pull it all in

BTW, I can only find vastly overprices ITW clips
only need four rather than the 20 they want to sell

where did you get them?

Thanks

eBay!

I bought a pair of used day sack yoke straps for £3.85 including free postage - the came with 3 male clips per strap ((USED) BRITISH ARMY PLCE DAYSACK YOKE STRAPS (X2) FOR SIDE POUCHES | eBay ).

Then I needed two female clips, one for the end of each strap, so I actually bought 10 used complete ITW clips for £10 including free postage (Ten Genuine British Army Issue Black ITW Fastex 20mm Quick Release Clip Buckles | eBay ). I just used two of these, and only the female part of the clip.

To secure the straps I decided to buy some 20mm buckles, which were £1.50 for 10 (3 Bar Plastic Buckle Adjuster 15, 20, 30, 45, 50, 60 mm webbing rucksack camping | eBay ).

Stupidly before I bought the day yoke straps I had already bought 10 metres of 20mm webbing at £3.99, thinking I was going to need it. Doubtless I will find a use for it though.

Are you looking for four complete clips, or just the male parts?
