Sloppy picatinny fit between bipod and rail

Just purchased a new Tier One tactical bipod to replace my "Harris" nock off on my steyr ssg69 with a UIT rail.
Really like the bipod but the fit to the rail is so loose that i cannot adjust the QD enough to remove said slop. There is slop between the male and female parts of the rail and bipod mount bit this appears to be industry standard after a quick Google.
Think I've narrowed it down to the actual rail being too narrow. Rail in question is aleo a tier one UIT to picatinny adaptor. ( well advertised as such on ebay). Run calipers over the rail and it's coming up as 20.87mm wide. A quick Google shows the correct width should be 21.21mm. Am I asking to much of this type of mount by expecting there to be no movement?
