Very similar to the Tier One you have been looking at;

Actual photo of the product itself;

You will need to attach it with an M5 countersunk bolt into the existing threaded insert, (where the current sling stud resides), and an extra shorter M5 countersunk bolt plus nut & washer passing through the stock and forend grip, (new hole required;)).

All assuming it's a Tikka that your working on?

PS The base of the item is not perfectly flat but ever so slightly radiused however, so is the Tikka forends and forend accessory grips.

The method described above.
Or an Atlas one for a flat fore end.

that all sounds like some thing i could easily mess up, i already have a spartan gunsmith adaptor sunk unto my tikka SV stock that is no longer needed

It's very easy to be honest, the main anchor point is already there in the form of the sling stun captive insert, all you have to do is drill a secondary adjacent 5mm hole through the stock.
