Mine is just a bit awkward to do that - I tried, but really didn’t like it.I hang my sheath knife on my chest bino pack
Never held one so can’t vouch for quality, but it’s a neat design. Now THAT is a cool looking little thing

Mild steel is Carbon steel.I got my brother in law one of these for Xmas. He is a farmer and doesn't want locking knives as he is opening and closing it many times a day for basic cutting tasks.
This knife is good because it is cheap, you do not need use of thumbnail nick to open it because there is plenty of metal hanging out of the opening to grab to open and the slipjoint mechanism is nice and strong to keep it either open or shut. The blade is also carbon steel which I like as cheap knives tend to have crappy steel unless they are carbon steel. Which obviously can rust but as long as you are not getting it soaking wet and leaving it in a bag, it will be fine. It is also easy to clean up with wet n dry paper and they take and hold a decent edge with ease.
The handle wood is also nice and defies the price. He is a picky bugger but he really likes it. I keep meaning to get another one for myself. It is quite small in the hand but handy.
