Rossi Circuit judge in .45 colt/.410.

Double action revolver action in stainless with guards to stop burns from the cylinder gap. Nice wood stock.

Abillity to use .45 colt in the chamber for the rifled barrel or 3" .410 loads.

My personal piece thats just come in. Will be good for the foxes and bunnies within 100 yards.

It's a strong action, so Ruger only type 45 Colt loads can be used for hunting as well. The regular 45 Colt loads will take down the smaller deer up to 60kg size as well but may not be legal for hunting with the velocity and/or energy requirements.
I'd say close range for rabbits and the like mainly because the long freebore in the 410 length cylinder is not conducive to accuracy.
If you can find longer brass to get the bullet closer to the cylinder throat, it will improve that considerably. There was a home loading to address this issue in 45/410 singleshot rifles called the 45 Mongo. Taurus also made this rifle in a shorter cylinder version in 44 Magnum. They also make a 22/22 Magnum version which is neato bandito but woefully lacking in accuracy because for some stupid reason there is oversized freebore in the forcing cone and up the barrel that is about the length of 1.5 22 magnum cartridges.
I had one and I could drop a 22 magnum down the barrel from the forcing cone to about that length. I estimated it to be around 30 cal in this region. Accuracy was great for plinking but I was going to use it for squirrel hunting and I use head shots mainly on squirrels in the 25 to 30 yard range. It wasn't happening with that particular rifle.

If you holding the forend doesn’t your arm get burnt by the powder flash from the front of the cylinder?

Nice to see something different

I'm wondering if 460 S&W brass can be chambered (but not shot, obviously) to be able to have a longer case for the 45 Colt bullets to get closer to chamber end/forcing cone. It is a rifled barrel. There is a deflection plate below the cylinder gap to deflect away from the shooter's arm. You can see it in the pics.
454 Casull dies can be used to reload 45 Colt, 454 Casull and 460 S&W. It's what I use to load 45 Colt and have used it for a 454 Casull Ruger revolver I had and a 460 S&W revolver.

This is why you have the feature of the special protectors next to the cylinder either side, so that the venting won't do that.

I have only fired a revolver the once - a 357 Smith and Wesson - very nice to shoot, but all I could see were jets of flame coming out of the cylinder.

I guess yours is a S1 rifle: and with a smoothbore tube it would be a S1 shotgun?
What sort of groups do you get at 100yds with the .45 Colt option?

It is a section 1 rifle yes due to the rifled bore. However if it was a smoothbore, it would be considered section 5, as it would be "smoothbore with revolving chambers".
It does come with an optionally attachable 1" choke though, in an attempt to straighten out the shot after going through the rifling. I doubt it will do much but will see what it does at 20 yards.
Its currently being threaded however i have heard these have the capabillity to group 1" at 50 yards wiyh the right 45lc ammo

I have a 357 Ruger GP100 for humane dispatch, it is rather flashy yes!
I wont really notice that with this as my eye will be down the 2-7 x 32 zeiss terra scope. I did a test fitting with warne rings and it seems to suit it quite well

Always thought one of these in something large deer legal, using rifle bullets, would be great. A 45-70 For example.

I did a great deal of looking into this and I am very surprised I could not find one, even in the US market. I would have much prefered that option for deer.

Its a real shame regarding some of our legislation in the UK and deer. A 200gr plus .45 colt with 400 ft/lbs would easily put down a Fallow with a chest shot within 50 yards from a high seat, in my mind..but not to worry, plenty of other legal capable cals in the cabinet!

Magnum Research has the BFR revolver chambered in 45-70, 444, 450 Marlin, 460 S&W, 500 S&W and 30-30 in the long cylinder model and a short cylinder in 44 Mag, 454 Casull, 50 JRS, etc.
I have one in 30-30 with 10" barrel. About to put a Burris 2x scope on it. I also have an Encore pistol in 308, 357 Maximum, and 41 GNR #2 (445 Supermag case necked down to .41 caliber, 210gr bullet at 2200fps out of a 8" barrel made by Gary Reeder Custom). The barrel is called the Mini Beast but recoil is not bad. About like a full strength 44 Mag at the original ballistics of a 240gr bullet at 1500fps. I also shoot a Ruger Super Blackhawk Stainless 44 Mag, Ruger Blackhawk 41 mag and Ruger Redhawk 41 Mag and also have the GP100 in 357 mag, Ruger SP101 in 327 Fed Mag. I traded a MGM 45-70 barrel for the 41 GNR which came with dies.
The 30-30 believe it or not is mild in recoil. About like a 38SPL +P but then it weighs a little over 5lbs. 44 Mag next to the 41 GNR#2, Top pic counter clockwise, 44 mag, 41 mag, 30-30, 357, 327, 41 mag.123545123546

I wouldn't mind getting a Circuit Judge rifle in 44 Mag. There is a Utube video out of Australia shooting the 44 Mag version. Probably plenty with the 45/410 model as well.

Very very nice collection you have there. I only have the one revolver handgun myself, as we in the UK are very restricted for reasons we can have them. Of course then this rifle I have posted is classed as a rifle and the stainless matches well with the one on my ruger gp100.
I was very much liking the idea of one chambered in .45-70, that is, a revolver carbine as opposed to a handgun. I did do some research and I knew Rossi did a .44 magnum addition as well as .22wmr but didn't think they did .45-70?

The crims get them and turn them into revolvers, cut the barrel and remanufacture the stock

Is that what they do in Australia? There aren't enough of these in the UK for that to happen and we also don't have a high number of cases of firearm theft I don't believe.

I believe in relation to handgun crime in the UK, the primary source is illegal importation and smuggling through Birmingham and London. Secondary to that, would be: guns manufactured underground, converted old replica's, use of obsolete calibre handguns like .44 russian. We once had airguns that used the Brocock air cartridge system but these were banned due to the ease of them being used with live cartridges.
