I have booked flights for Johannesburg for my family at Easter 2024. We would like a day or two plains game shooting. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Definitely, have a chat with Evert Birkenstock. I’ve hunted with him recently and he’s just north of Jo’burg. He’s on here.

Hi. I would thoroughly recommend Martin of Sangoma safaris for any hunting trip in South Africa, but he is located right up near the border on the Sand River. It would take around 6 hours to get there from Jo'burg (and 6 hours to get back). If you have the funds you could fly by light aircraft. The hunting in South Africa is magical and I would urge you to make it happen, but two days is very tight to hunt as the behaviour of the animals is very much dominated by the weather. Thank you for the recommendation. Unfortunately funds are very tight and so I will need to stay nearer Jo’berg this time. Pretty sure the bug will bite me and I’ll head back again with more focus!
