Border Force stop issuing export permits

i went through manchester to get to windhoek via frankfurt last week.
they took my main bag at check in. i then took rifle case and ammo box to a border force window. it was serial number checked and tagged. i then dropped it off at the oversized baggage scanner and that was it until i collected it in namibia!

Did you have just the one hour stopover in Frankfurt?

no i didn’t want to cut it too fine. so i went in a lounge for a few hours and met up with my friends that i was travelling onwards with.

i would 100% go the same way again as it was easy and lufthansa were great as well.

We thought the same but it was our only option I think. I’d had a seamless transfer via Frankfurt en route to Croatia previously
